Highlight Reel (February 2019 Favorites)
I thought it would be fun if I took a moment each month to let you know what things are currently striking my fancy, so here goes the February installment!

CURRENT FAVORITES:
BOOKS:
This month, I read:
Food: A Love Story by Jim Gaffigan— humorous essays on various types of food, a great listen in the car.
The Zookeeper’s Wife: A War Story by Diane Ackerman— an interesting twist on the World War II theme (which I nearly always love anyway).
A Wreath of Snow: A Victorian Christmas Novella by Liz Curtis Higgs— a sweet (and not entirely predictable) story of love, loss, family relationships, and humility.
The Anatomist's Apprentice by Tessa Harris— an interesting venture into the lives of medical professionals throughout history, connected through time.
A Light So Lovely: The Spiritual Legacy of Madeleine L'Engle, Author of A Wrinkle in Time by Sarah Arthur— a lovely compilation of insight into this wonderful author’s life and writing that illuminates her wisdom and insight even further.
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban by J.K. Rowling— another great installment in this series, making me wish I’d read it sooner!
QUOTE:
“Sometimes the best decision you can make is simply to make a decision.” —Chrystal Evans Hurst, She’s Still There.
I’m notoriously bad at making decisions. I like to make the right choice, so I agonize over my options, afraid I don’t have all the information or that I’ll make the wrong choice. But sometimes I just need to make the best decision I can with the information I have and call it a day so I can have peace and keep moving forward.
MOVIES/TV SHOWS:
I watched the most recent (and last?) season of The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt on Netflix, which I’m convinced everyone finds hilarious.
I also watched the most recent season of One Day at a Time, which I love for the Cuban flair, the Spanish influence, and the way they handle family and cultural issues so well.
I also watched Titanic and Hercules, after realizing it’s been far too long since I watched them.
PRODUCT:
I’m really appreciating my portable battery charger because I’m the person who doesn’t like charging her phone overnight or plugging it in until it’s at 20% or less to preserve the long-term battery life. But sometimes finding and outlet and plugging my phone in and leaving it in one spot long enough to fully charge isn’t doable, so having a portable option has been so great! (This is the one I have.)
FOOD:
I made some delicious banana nut muffins, carrot apple muffins, and peanut butter energy bites for my family’s trip to Walt Disney World, and they were all amazing!
I also made some delicious Brussels sprouts tacos, but I ended up skipping the shells and just eating the filling in bowls. I couldn’t get enough!
MEMORIES FROM FEBRUARY:
My family’s trip to Walt Disney World was definitely the highlight of the month! We had such a blast going on rides, seeing shows, and enjoying the warm weather!
LOOKING FORWARD TO IN MARCH:
I’m traveling to visit my fiance’s brother and sister-in-law and their kids, which will be fun! I’m also enjoying a girls’ pampering night with some close friends and some time at home after being away for a while.
